Anna Gréta Sigurðardóttir and Sigurður Flosason, present a repertoire of their own works, mostly new. Their performance will feature both sung and instrumental music, with compositions and lyrics by both artists. Anna Gréta will play piano, keyboards, and sing, while Sigurður will play a saxophone, flute, and bass clarinet.
As it happens Sigurður is her father and one of our renowned jazz players in Iceland and has been active for over three decades.
The Iceland-born jazz pianist, singer and composer is characterized by her soulful melodies and technical skills. Anna Gréta combines elements of Nordic jazz with pop and folk in her music, creating a unique, atmospheric sound world. She performs both as a solo artist and with other renowned musicians and has received several awards for her creative work, including the prestigious Monica Zetterlund award and three times Icelandic Music Award winner. Anna Gréta's music reflects the vastness and beauty of her Icelandic homeland, combined with a deep and overwhelming emotional expressiveness.
